Rudy Returns to Rhinos Lineup in Win
- Updated: June 14, 2015
Tyler Rudy started and played a full 90 minutes for the Rochester Rhinos in a 2-0 victory over Louisville City FC Saturday night. The Revolution loanee made his first appearance since May 16th in a 1-1 draw with the Wilmington Hammerheads due to injury.
Kenardo Forbes and Steevan dos Santos provided the offense for Rochester with goals in the 43rd and 67th minute, respectively.
Louisville City FC had a number of offensive chances, matching the Rhinos with 11 total shots, but keeper Brandon Miller earned his clean sheet, making five saves.
Providence College graduate Marcos Ugarte started for the Rhinos and played the majority of the match before being subbed out in the 65th minute.
Rochester increases their lead in the USL Eastern Conference with the win. The Rhinos came into Saturday with 25 points through 11 games, with a one point lead over Charleston Battery and two points over the Richmond Kickers. With the Battery having the day off and the Kickers battling to a 0-0 draw with FC Montreal, the Rhinos’ win puts them four points over both teams. The lead is even more comfortable considering the Rhinos have played one game fewer than Charleston and two games fewer than Richmond.
The Rhinos remain the only unbeaten team in the USL and have a spotless 4-0-0 record at home in 2015.
