- Updated: July 20, 2015
Revolution midfielder Diego Fagundez earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Week for week 20 after an impressive performance against New York City FC on Saturday.
The 20-year-old Homegrown Player assisted on Lee Nguyen’s game-winning goal in the 12th minute, and also completed 83.3 percent of his passes.
He was also the second-highest Revolution rated player according to whoscored.com, which bases its ratings on statistical data compiled by OPTA.
Following the match, Revolution coach Jay Heaps had nothing but praise for his creative midfielder.
“I thought Diego was very good tonight,” Heaps said. “I thought he brought the right mindset and it was an aggressive plan on our end because we want Diego to be in those attacking positions and what we ask of him is to really put that effort in defensively. Tonight, I thought that he was really good on both sides of the ball.”
