Former Seacoast United Phantoms forward Anthony Grant, who earned the 2015 PDL MVP award on the back of a 12-goal season with the New Hampshire outfit, signed with the USL’s Richmond Kickers last week.
Grant, who collected a combined 26 goals over the last two seasons with the Phantoms, joined the USL side last Thursday. He made his Kickers debut on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Saint Louis FC when he came on as a 63rd minute substitute.
The Jamaican International earned PDL All-Conference honors in 2014 and 2015, and also earned the PDL’s Golden Boot award this year.
The Kickers currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference on 36 points, four points above the sixth-place Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The top six teams in each conference earn playoff spots.
Grant and his Richmond teammates return to action on Saturday when they face the Charleston Battery at City Stadium.
