MASL: Hartford City Inks ASL All-Star Boucher
- Updated: October 1, 2015
Hartford City FC signed defender Pat Boucher and goalkeeper Hami Kara to contracts on Thursday.
Boucher, who recently played with Western Pro Soccer Club, was named to the 2015 ASL All-Star team after playing every minute for the Lusitanos during the 2014-15 season. He previously played for the Western Mass Pioneers, and CFC Azul (now AC Connecticut).
“Pat is a dynamic player whose strengths are suited to the indoor game,” Hartford City FC head coach Paul Wright said in a team release. “We feel he will contribute right away with his 1v1 attacking abilities and the intensity he brings.”
Kara, who trialed for a trio of Turkish clubs between 2012 and 2013, also spent time in preseason camp with the Columbus Crew. He most recently suited up for the Pioneers.
“Hami is an excellent shot-stopper and he’s very comfortable with the ball at his feet,” Wright said. “He could be very successful in this league.”
Hartford City will kick off its inaugural season on Nov. 8 against the Chicago Mustangs at the XL Center.
