Less than a month after his option was declined, the Revolution re-signed former first-round pick Steve Neumann to a contract on Friday.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 SuperDraft, played in only nine matches for the Revolution in 2015, a season after he recorded an MLS-best 20 substitute appearances. He was one of two Revolution players – including fellow Georgetown product Tyler Rudy – whose options were declined on Nov. 25, but were not subject to the Waiver Draft.

Neumann made one start for the Revolution in 2015, featuring at holding midfielder at Montreal on Sept. 19 in a 3-0 loss.

Per MLS and club policy, terms of Neumann’s deal were not disclosed. He earned a salary of $92,750 in 2015.

With Neumann back on board, the Revolution currently have 18 players under contract.
