U.S. Soccer Unveils New Crest
- Updated: February 29, 2016
The U.S. National Teams will don a decidedly different look starting next month after the U.S. Soccer Federation officially adopted a new crest on Monday.
The new crest, which features 13 vertical stripes of red and white under a blue field, will replace the badge worn by the U.S. since 1995. The new iteration does not feature a soccer ball, which had been a prominent part of the last two badges.
Monday’s announcement from U.S. Soccer regarding the new badge also confirmed the forthcoming release of new kits, which will be released in March.
The new badge will make its official debut on March 25 when the U.S. Men’s National Team travels to face Guatemala for Game 3 of Semifinal Round Qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Women’s National Team will retire the current crest in official competition during the inaugural SheBelieves Cup, which will run from March 3-9.
