Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell was on hand for Saturday’s Revolution home opener to present his team’s Super Bowl LI trophy before the opening whistle.

Mitchell, who made six catches for 70 yards in the Patriots’ historic 34-28 comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, donned a Revolution jersey for Saturday’s opener.

The 23-year-old wide receiver is the latest in a series of Boston-area athletes to partake in Revolution pre-game festivities.

In 2007, then-Celtic shooting guard Ray Allen participated in the coin toss while Bruins players Kevan Miller, Matt Fraser, and Reilly Smith were on hand for a match last season.

It is unknown whether another Patriots player will be present for the Revolution’s first home match against Atlanta United FC on Sept. 30.
