Breakers Post Another 5 Spot
- Updated: March 29, 2017
It was another high-octane performance for the Boston Breakers on Tuesday as they claimed a 5-1 preseason victory over the NEFC U-15 Boys at Forekicks in Taunton, Mass.
Three days after claiming a 5-1 win over Boston College, the Breakers offense looked lively again in their second preseason match. Rosie White opened and closed the scoring with tallies in the 40th and 73rd minutes while Brooke Elby (45th minute), Adriana Leon (48th minute) and Ifeoma Onumonu (65th minute) all put the ball in the back of the net. NEFC U-15s grabbed their lone goal of the game in the 56th minute.
“I’m really pleased. It was a massive improvement from Saturday, with the ball, without the ball,” Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said in a club release. “We had a chance to break the game down from Saturday, showing them clips on certain expectations, but I felt some of the football we played tonight was fantastic across the board.”
The Breakers will look to keep it sixth gear on Saturday against the University of Connecticut at Jordan Field in Allston, Mass. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
