A day after they were sent by the Revolution to second-division USL for short-term loans, third-string goalkeeper Matt Turner and rookie forward Brian Wright both saw action on Saturday.

Turner started between the sticks and made five saves for the Richmond Kickers in their 1-0 loss to New York Red Bulls II at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. Saturday’s start was the second time the Revolution third-stringer was loaned to Richmond, which incidentally serves as DC United’s USL affiliate.

Not long after Turner’s game reached its conclusion, Wright made his professional debut Saturday when he entered in the 60th minute for the Tulsa Roughnecks in their 1-0 win over Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at Oneok Field in Tulsa, OK. The Roughnecks are coached by former Revolution assistant David Vaudreuil.

While the Revolution maintain an official affiliation with USL side Rochester Rhinos, New England has not sent a player to the second-division side since last April.

Turner and Wright are both expect to rejoin the Revolution when training resumes Tuesday.
