Revs U-23s Will Play Series of Friendlies
- Updated: April 11, 2017
The Revolution will field an Under-23 team for the second year in a row, and is expected to play a series of friendlies during the summer months just as it did last year, a club spokesman confirmed with NESoccerToday.com on Tuesday.
After the Revolution parted ways with its PDL affiliate following the 2015 season, the organization formed the U-23 squad as an opportunity for its college-age Youth Academy alumni to get match experience during the summer in addition to training with the first team.
The U-23 team did not enter a college-age league like the PDL or the NPSL last season, instead playing a series of friendlies against similar U-23 outfits such as NPSL side Boston City FC as well as the PDL’s Ocean City Nor’easters.
The schedule of this summer’s friendlies for the Revolution U-23s has not yet been released.
