The New England Revolution Under-23 squad will face the Western Mass Pioneers in a pair of friendlies this summer.

The Revs U-23 squad, which is comprised of former players from its Youth Academy and local college prospects, will play its first game against the Pioneers at 7:00 pm on Jun. 3 at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, Mass. The second matchup will take place at Gillette Stadium on Jul. 11.

Pioneers head coach Federico Molinari expects the contests against the Revs U-23s to provide a quality test against his squad, which finished second in the Northeast Division of the PDL last season.

“This is a great opportunity for our players to have another meaningful game against good competition,” Molinari said in a club release. “The Revolution U-23s are well coached and have good players, they will match up well against us.”

The Revs U-23s are a non-affiliated club that will play series of friendlies against local competition.
