Agudelo Picks up Weekly Honors
- Updated: May 1, 2017
Revolution forward Juan Agudelo’s brace at Seattle over the weekend earned him a spot on MLSSoccer.com’s Team of the Week for week 9.
Agudelo scored in the 26th and 52nd minutes of Saturday’s 3-3 draw, a game that featured three unanswered goals by the Sounders. The physical forward also registered team highs in aerial duels won (4) and key passes (4) against Seattle.
“I don’t want to talk too much about myself right now,” Agudelo told the media after the match. “But on a personal level, I feel very good. I feel like I’m able to help my teammates, whether it’s holding the ball and keeping possession or scoring goals, so hopefully I can keep this run going because the most important thing is to make the playoffs.”
Agudelo’s spot on the week 9 Team of the Week marked the second time this season he earned league-wide recognition. He was also named to the Team of the Week for week 3 against Minnesota.
Additionally, Berkshire School (Mass.) alum Jack Harrison also earned a spot on the Team of the Week for week 9. Harrison scored two goals in New York City FC’s 3-2 win over Columbus Crew SC. Harrison was named 2014-15 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year during his senior year at Berkshire School.
