Breakers Earn Road Point in Chicago

Reigning NWSL Player of the Month Rose Lavelle gave the Breakers a lift after the hour mark, but a late goal from the Red Stars forced the guests to settle for a 1-1 draw on Sunday at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill.
Lavelle tallied her second goal of the season in the 69th minute, and the lead stood until Christen Press scored an 89th minute equalizer.
Press was denied in the 78th minute after her free kick was cleared off the line by Natasha Dowie.
With the draw, the Breakers went to seven points with a 2-2-1 mark. The Red Stars also improved to seven points with an identical 2-2-1 record.
The Breakers return to action on Friday when they host the Portland Thorns at Jordan Field. Kickoff is 7:00pm.
