Nguyen Misses DC Match Due to Knock
- Updated: August 26, 2017
Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen did not travel for the squad’s game at DC United Saturday after suffering a hamstring injury in training late in the week.
Nguyen missed his second straight game after picking up an undisclosed injury prior to last week’s game at New York City FC, a game he watched from the substitutes bench.
The 30-year-old skipper has scored eight goals and collected 10 assists in 23 games this season.
With Nguyen unavailable, midfielder Xavier Kouassi donned the captain’s armband for the second straight game.
Nguyen’s absence is the latest blow to the 10th-place Revolution. Last weekend, midfielder Kelyn Rowe suffered a right knee strain, and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.
