Seacoast United Phantoms History

Founded in 1996 as the New Hampshire Phantoms, the team, now known as the Seacoast United Phantoms, joined the USL PDL in 2008 and formed a second NPSL team in 2011. The Phantoms played in the USISL Pro League in 1996, the USISL D-3 Pro League from 1997-98, the USL D-3 Pro League from 1999-2002, the USL Pro Select League in 2003, the USL Pro Soccer League in 2004, and the USL Second Division from 2005-2007, before joining the PDL. The club has also operated a team in the NPSL since 2011, with the PDL and NPSL teams sharing players. The Phantoms won the Northern Division on the USL Pro Soccer League in 2004. Notable former players include Jeff Larentowicz, Preston Burpo, Tim Murray, Luke Vercollone and Grenada International Ricky Charles. The Phantoms play their home games at Portsmouth High School.
