Boston City extended its unbeaten streak three after Homero Morais cancelled out an early own goal to secure a 1-1 draw to Seacoast United Phantoms on Saturday at Amesbury Park in Amesbury, Mass.

Gabriel Da Souza inadvertently directed a shot from Seacoast’s Matias Candia into the back of the Boston net in the 21st minute. But Da Souza didn’t have to dwell long on his mistake as Morais knocked home a Jadilson Vieira free kick in the 23rd minute.

Boston goalkeeper Neneca was called upon to make a handful of strong saves on each side of the break to keep the hosts from staking the go-ahead score.

With the draw, Boston improved to 2-1-1 (7 points) and earned a share of first place in the Northeast Atlantic Conference standings. The stalemate allowed the Phantoms to claim their first point of the season (0-2-1, 1 point).

Boston will return to action on Saturday against longtime NPSL power Brooklyn Italians at LIU Brooklyn Athletic Complex in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Phantoms resume their campaign on Sunday, May 22 against New York Cosmos B at James M Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y.
