Breakers Sign Former magicJack DaCosta
- Updated: March 5, 2012
Former magicJack midfielder Amanda DaCosta was added to the Breakers roster, the team announced on Monday.
DaCosta, who was recently invited to U.S. Women’s National Team U-23 camp in January, was drafted by magicJack in 2011 before signing with Sky Blue FC in the offseason. But in January, the decision came down to suspend the 2012 WPS season, and DaCosta became a free agent.
The addition of DaCosta gives the Breakers a versatile midfielder who can play in the center or on either wing.
Prior to joining WPS, the Katonah, N.Y. native was an All-ACC selection all four years at Florida State University, where she scored 17 goals and collected 24 assists in her career with the Seminoles.
