Breakers Set to Play Exhibiton on May 12

Although the Boston Breakers haven’t released their 2012 schedule yet, an exhibition game against USL W-League team D.C. United Women on May 12 was confirmed on Thursday.

The game will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex, which formerly hosted defunct WPS side Washington Freedom, in Boyds, Md. Kick off is set for 6pm.

“We are looking forward to a great game with D.C. United Women, as we both prepare for the upcoming season,” said Lisa Cole, Head Coach of the Breakers in a statement. “We can’t wait to play at the Maryland SoccerPlex again, it’s one of the best women’s soccer venues around, and the fans are always supportive of the game.”

The Breakers will be co-hosting a player combine along with the New England Mutiny and Aztec MA on Apr. 1 at Harvard University. The Breakers are expected to commence their preseason training schedule in mid-April.
