Apajee’s Goal Lifts Revs 17s

Danny Apajee’s 49th minute tally steered the Revolution U-17s to their first victory in the Future Champion Guateng tournament with a 1-0 win over Aspire (Qatar) on Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Apajee’s goal arrived when Christian Sady pushed down the left flank and sent it into the 18, where Apajee ripped a shot that pounded the bottom of the bar and into the net. Goalkeeper David Hepp stopped every shot he faced, including a 52nd minute effort that forced him to the dive and kept Aspire at bay.
The Revolution 17s close out their tournament schedule on Saturday against in a rematch against first round opponent Orlando Pirates (South Africa). The winner of the match will earn fifth place in the tournament.
