After playing in every Revolution game this season, midfielder Lee Nguyen will be forced to miss the final four due to right shoulder surgery, the club announced on Monday.

According to the team’s release, the procedure was undertaken “to correct chronic instability in his shoulder.” He is expected to make a full recovery within four months.

Nguyen, who was added to the team via waiver draft on Mar. 2, played all in 30 games, including Saturday’s 1-1 draw to New York, a game in which he went the full 90. In his first year in New England, he scored five goals and added two assists.

With Nguyen out for the season, head coach Jay Heaps will be hard pressed to put together a midfield for Saturday’s game in Philadelphia. In addition to Nguyen, the Revolution will also be without starting midfielder Ryan Guy, who is on international duty with the Guam National team.
