Fagundez Sees Action in 6-1 Rout of Chile

Although he was left off the XI for the second straight match, Diego Fagundez nevertheless found playing time on Wednesday as the Uruguay U-20s routed Chile 6-1 in Group B action of the South American Youth Championship.
Fagundez came for Franco Acosta in the 83rd minute, at which point the score was already 5-0. Two of those goals came from Acosta (20th and 46th minutes), while Rodrigo Echeverría (23rd minute), Gaston Pereiro (66th minute), Rodrigo Amaral (81st minute) and Gaston Faber (88th minute) all scored for Uruguay. Rodrigo Echeverría (85th minute) scored the lone goal for Chile.
In two games for Uruguay, the Revolution midfielder has played a combined 72 minutes. He did not play in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Brazil.
However, Fagundez is expected to see more minutes in Friday’s Group B finale against Venezuela as Amaral, Pereiro, Erick Cabaco and Mauro Arambarri won’t be available due to caution accumulation.
