If you think about it, Saturday’s match had just about everything. Thrills, spills and, most importantly, goals. Lots of goals. So because it was such an entertaining affair, we decided to try a different format for this week’s edition of Five Things We Learned.

Why? Well, let’s be honest: it was all pretty basic. So without further ado…*

1. Chris Tierney can not only shoot with his right foot, he can bend a nice ball and score with it, too. Who’da thunk it? And then he nearly did again in the 49th minute on a shot that Jeff Attinella needed to make an acrobatic save to deny. Next week: Tierney takes all set pieces with his right foot…and runs away with the single-season assist record.

2. Dreams do come true. One of the most unassuming, yet effective (and likeable), players to ever don a Revolution uniform ripped a left-footed strike from distance to score his first MLS goal. Congratulations, Scott Caldwell. You win the 2015 Revolution season.

3. The Boston sports landscape has a new Big 3. And they don’t play at the Garden, either. The Juan Agudelo-Charlie Davies-Teal Bunbury combo put six of the squad’s 13 shots on frame, and scored a combined two goals. Just don’t call them the Boston Three Party. Or the Three Amigos (HUH!)

4. Jermaine Jones isn’t half bad at center back…except when he’s flying all over the place like…well…a defensive midfielder. Then again, the record will show that the Revolution haven’t still haven’t conceded a goal from the run of play since Mar. 15, even with Jones in the rear (!) for the last two (!!!). Somewhere, Jurgen Klinsmann is watching. And smiling.

5. Salt Lake is unbeatable no more. Jay Heaps reminded his squad that the last time that happened, he was suiting up for the Revolution. So was Abdoulie (ne’ Kenny) Mansally. Sorry, Kenny, er Abdoulie, Mansally. we-beat-salt-jusvnt
