USL: Rudy Makes Cameo, Helps Rhinos Stay Unbeaten

Revolution loanee Tyler Rudy came on in the 62nd minute to help the Rochester Rhinos extend their unbeaten streak to eight following Saturday’s 1-0 win over Toronto FC II at Sahlen’s Stadium.

The Revolution central midfielder saw 28 minutes worth of action after replacing Michael Garzi in the central midfield as the Rhinos become the first USL side to reach the 20-point plateau with a 6-0-2 mark. Fellow Revolution loan player Timi Mulgrew was was held out of Saturay’s match due to injury.

To date, Rudy has collected 256 minutes of action over seven matches while Mulgrew has registered 70 minutes over two games.

Steevan dos Stantos scored the winner in stoppage time not longer after Toronto, who fell to 1-4-1 (4 points), was reduced to 10 men following a pair Molham Babouli’s cautions late in the match.

Providence College alumnus Marcos Ugarte came on for Christian Volesky in the 76th minute.

Rhinos’ keeper Brandon Miller only needed to make two saves to deny the Reds of grabbing their second win of the season.

The Rhinos return to action on May 16 when they travel south to face the Wilmington Hammerheads at Legion Field.
