WPSL: Mutiny Add 8 Ahead of Opener
- Updated: May 11, 2015
The New England Mutiny added eight more players to its roster on Monday as the club prepares for Saturday’s season opener against New York AC.
Defender Breanne Moreau, forward Brittany Moreau, midfielder Liana Hinds, midfielder Kristen McAdams, forward Elise Galipo, midfielder Julia Cipriano, midfielder Jessica Miller and midfielder Alexa Kenney are all set to suit up for the Mutiny, who’ll be competing in the newly-established Power 5 division this year.
The addition of the eight brings the Mutiny roster to 19. Earlier this month, the club announced that they’d bring back Kacey Richards, Andrea Plucenik, Meghan Cunningham, Rachel Ugolik, Kristyn Shea, Sarah Brochu and Kate Howarth from last year’s squad.

Breanne Moreau (Belchertown, MA) and Brittany Moreau (Belchertown, MA) join Wilbraham’s Sarah Brochu as homegrown players from western Mass to join the Mutiny. The twin sisters both play for coach Len Tsantiris at the University of Connecticut.
Liana Hinds (Hartford, CT) who is a member of the Trinidad & Tobago Women’s National Teams is a junior at the University of Connecticut. Hinds’ game-winning goal in a 2-1 game versus Chile gave Trinidad & Tobago its first ever World Cup victory.
Kristen McAdams (Colchester, CT) and Elise Galipo (Bristol, CT) play college soccer at the University of Hartford for coach John Natale and both players were members of the New England Mutiny U-20 team under coach Mike Smith of Trinity College.
Wheaton college standout Julia Cipriano (Middlebury, CT) joins the Mutiny for her first season. Cipriano, a junior, has played in every single match in her three years under coach Luis Reis. She led the Lyons in points with 29, including 10 goals and 9 assists.
A high school teammate of Cipriano at Pomperaug H.S., Jessica Miller (Southbury, CT) will also join New England. Miller, who plays collegiately for John Gibson at Springfield College, a rival of Cipriano’s Wheaton, also has played in every match in her three years at Springfield.
Rounding out the Connecticut contingent is UConn midfielder Alexa Kenney (Suffield, CT). The red-shirt freshman only played two years in high school due to an ACL tear, but impressed coach Len Tsantiris to earn a spot on the Huskies roster and she saw action in 14 matches.
