Chris Roswess scored twice to send Western Mass Pro Soccer to a comprehensive 4-1 win over Evergreen Diplomats on Saturday at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, Mass.

Roswess opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Vitalis Atamafac briefly put Evergreen on level terms when he struck in the 12th minute. But Roswess reclaimed the lead in the 36th minute after converting a Dan Fabian feed.

Following the assist, Fabian found the net in the 48th minute when he grabbed a pass from Eddie Bogle and put it past Evergreen keeper Juny Halterman. Luke Perry capped the scoring in the 90th minute with Bogle setting up the fourth goal for the Lusitanos.

Western Mass dictated the match throughout, outshooting Evergreen 25-6, which forced Halterman to make 12 saves. Maxi Vieira fired a match-high six shots while Roswess, Tommaso D’Agostino and David Bernardsson each collected four apiece.

With the win, Western Mass improved its record to 8-1-5 (29 points) while Evergeen’s mark slipped to 4-9-0 (12 points).

The Lusitanos return to action on May 31 when they host the Rhode Island Oceaneers at Lusitano Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:00pm.
