Revolution striker Jerry Bengtson, who was loaned to Belgrano last summer on a deal that was set to to last through Jun. 30 of this year, has left the Argentinean squad, but is not expected to re-join the Revolution before the end of the month.

Bengtson’s departure comes one game shy of the fulfillment of the original loan deal, which was set to expire at the end of the month. Belgrano has only one match left before the summer break, which runs from Jun. 7 through Jul. 12.

Although Bengtson’s time at Belgrano has concluded, he is expected to return to his native Honduras for the time being. With Gold Cup action on tap for next month, Bengtson figures to be a part of his native country’s roster for the month-long tournament.

Honduras’ first match of the tournament is set for Jul. 7 against the U.S. at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Tx.

Should Bengtson re-join his teammates next month, his addition would put the Revolution roster at the 28-player maximum. However, the club could still add an additional player with Darrius Barnes currently on the disabled list.
