The Breakers’ offseason roster renovations continued on Thursday with the signing Swedish midfielder Louise Schillgard. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, per team/league policy.

Schillgard, 26, joins the Breakers following a loan spell with Älta Sweden’s Elitettan in 2014. She also has experience playing under head coach Matt Beard for Liverpool, tallying nine goals in 14 matches for the Reds.

“Louise is one of the best players I have ever worked with. She has a great soccer brain, she’s a dead ball specialist, and she can score and create goals,” Beard said in a club release. “I’m delighted we have managed to bring someone of Louise’s quality to Boston. The way she is as a player I’m confident she will be a hit in the NWSL.”

The 5-foot-7 Stockholm native has also made stops in Australia’s W-League for the Western Sydney Wanderers in 2013, Spain’s Primera Divison for RCD Espanyol, and played for three teams in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan (Hammarby, Linköping and AIK).

Internationally, Schillgard has made 24 appearances for Sweden, competing on the national stage in the 2011 UEFA World Cup Qualifying tournament, as well as in the 2009 European Championship. Her international debut came in 2008 in a European qualification match against Romania.
