PDL: Boston City Edges Brooklyn
- Updated: June 19, 2016
Midfielder Michael Bustamante added to his recent scoring haul on Sunday as Boston City edged the Brooklyn Italians 1-0 at Malden Catholic High School in Malden, Mass.
Bustamante scored his fourth of the season in the 56th minute to send the locals to victory in the first game of a lengthy, four-match home set.
“We knew that the goal was going to come,” Bustamante told the media after the match. “We had plenty of chances and the keeper was fortunate that a lot of balls were going towards him. We knew we were going to get a goal, it was just a matter of time.”
Young keeper Victor Scariot allowed Bustamante’s strike to hold when he denied a dangerous effort from Rasmus Hansen in the latter stages.
With the win, Boston improved to 5-3-2 (17 points), and are unbeaten in their last four.
City will return to action on Wednesday to face the Kingston Stockade at Malden Catholic High School.
