For the first time since he was acquired in January, Revolution center back Benjamin Angoua participated in full training with his new club on Monday.

Angoua, who joined the club via loan from French Ligue 1 side EA Guingamp for the 2017 MLS season with the option to transfer permanently following the season, was hindered by a hamstring injury suffered prior to his acquisition.

“It was good to have him in the group,” Revolution coach Jay Heaps told revolutionsoccer.net on Monday. “This was the first real training session that he was able to go full. We’ve got some work to do, but it was good to get him in the mix.”

According to the club’s official website, the 30-year-old center back partnered with fellow new signing Antonio Delamea for “large portions” of Monday’s training session. Angoua is expected to see action before the Revolution close out their preseason schedule on Saturday.

“We’re trying to build the partnerships and the relationships,” Heaps said. “It’s defending, it’s linking into the attack and it’s making sure that we’re comfortable all the way across the back four.”
