- Updated: March 22, 2017
Revolution Academy midfielder Joe Brito scored three goals for the Under-18s over the weekend in their return to action following the U.S. Soccer Development Academy 2016-2017 winter break.
Brito, who saw action with the Revolution senior team during the preseason, scored two goals in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Seacoast United, and notched another in Sunday’s 3-3 draw to the Montreal Impact.
The 17-year-old midfielder from Bolton, Ct. is one of two Academy players across all age groups to score at least 10 goals on the season.
Fellow Academy prospect Damian Rivera also collected 10th goal of the season while playing up with the U-16s in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Seacoast United. The 14-year-old forward from Cranston, R.I. has now played five matches with the U-16s during the 2016-17 season.
Another Academy product who made an impact over the weekend was forward Izaiah Jennings, notched a brace in the U-18s’ 3-3 draw with the Montreal Impact. The 18-year-old from Barrington, R.I. now has eight goals on the year.
Last, but certainly not least, midfielder Kevin Vang scored his first goal of the season in spectacular fashion with this well-hit free kick in Saturday’s U-18 match against Seacoast United.
