Another recognizable name will don the Breakers’ blue this year, as team announced on Tuesday that defender Taryn Hemmings is returning to the team for its first year in WPSL Elite.

Hemmings, who played for the Breakers for the past two seasons, will join fellow returnees Leslie Osborne and Katie Schoepfer on the field for Boston this spring. The 25-year-old defender played in 29 games for the team from 2010-11, including 10 starts in 16 games last season. Over the winter, Hemmings suited up for Canberra United in Australia, where she scored four goals and earned Player of the Match in a 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory.

The Breakers will open preseason camp in early to mid-April. The WPSL Elite League regular season is expected to start in May.
