USOC Qualifying: Mass. Semis on Tap

Two weeks after U.S. Open Cup qualifying kicked off in the Commonwealth, four amateur clubs will face off this weekend in semifinal round.

On Saturday, Battery Park Gunners (BSSL) and East Providence Sports (LUSA) meet for their semifinal match at Madison Park High School in Roxbury, Mass. The game kicks off at 12:00pm.

Battery Park punched their ticket to the semifinal following a 2-1 win over Mass United FC (BSSL) on Nov. 3. East Providence earned its spot after it claimed a convincing 6-1 victory over Middlesex FC (BSSL) on Nov. 4.

On Sunday, Mass Premier Soccer (BSSL) and Strela Negra (NELASA) square off at Citizens Bank Field in Lancaster, Mass. Kickoff is set for 1pm.

Mass Premier earned its spot after grabbing a 6-0 win over Boston Olympiakos (MSSL) on Nov. 4. Strela Negra enters Sunday’s match fresh off a first-round bye.

The winners of this weekend’s contests are set to battle on Dec. 9 in the Massachusetts state championship game.
