MLS Combine: Bekker and Rugg Tally

Boston College prospects Kyle Bekker and Charlie Rugg bookended the scoring for the adiZERO squad in their 3-2 win over the adiPOWER side on Sunday at the MLS Combine.

Bekker opened the account in the 12th minute after grabbing a pass from Emery Welshman and sliding it through. Bekker returned the favor seven minutes later when he helped set up Welshman for the second adiZERO goal.

Shortly after the interval, another local prospect – Boston University’s Michael Bustamante – aided the adiPOWER cause when he set up Stefano Pinho in the 51st minute.

Meanwhile, Rugg scored his second goal of the weekend when he grabbed a pass from Erik Hurtado, and beat the keeper to score what proved to be the game-winner in the 72nd minute.

In the second game of the day, AdiPRIME and adiPURE settled for a 0-0 draw.

The third and final slate of Combine matches is set for Tuesday morning.
