Rhinos Win Preseason Opener

A pair of trialists scored for the Rochester Rhinos in a snowy, 2-0 preseason-opening win over Canisius College on Thursday at Sahlen’s Stadium.

Jochen Graf (33′) and Tyler Regan (70′) each grabbed a goal, while goalkeepers Kristian Nicht and Brandon Miller combined to keep the sheet clean.

“We had a chance to get about 30 to 45 minutes for the guys that we currently have under contract,” Rhinos head coach Jesse Myers said in a statement. “Those minutes should help us build on the fitness base that we’ve been developing in training. We also had the opportunity to take a look at our trialists in the second half. Most importantly we got our work in, and got out of the match healthy.”

Rochester returns to action at 3pm on Sunday at Sahlen’s Stadium, where they’ll host former Revolution and CFC Azul midfielder Ryan Kinne and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for a preseason tilt.
