On Monday, Jose Goncalves became the first New England Revolution player to win Defender of the Year honors since Michael Parkhurst picked up the award in 2007.

For the sake of debate, we ask the question: Who’s performance was more integral to the club’s success? Was it Goncalves, who led the Revolution to a franchise-high 14 clean sheets? Or was it Parkhurst, whose stellar defense brought the Revolution to the brink of a championship?
