Diego Fagundez earned his second call-up to the Uruguay Under-20 National Team on Friday. The 19-year-old will leave for Lima, Peru on Sunday for a pair of friendlies against Peru’s U-20 team on Monday, August 4, and Wednesday, August 6.

Fagundez is expected to return to the Revolution on Friday, August 8, which means, thanks to the Revolution’s bye-week, he is unlikely to miss any games for New England. He was previously called up to Uruguay’s U-20 team for a week long camp in October 2012.

Fagundez was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, but grew up in Leominster, Mass., after moving to the United States as a young child. He gained permanent resident status in October 2013, but does not yet have American citizenship and thus is not currently eligible to play for the U.S. National Team.

Fagundez has four goals and three assists this year in 21 games (20 starts). Last season he led the team with 13 goals and added seven assists in 31 games (28 starts). Over his four year career as a pro, Fagundez has 21 goals and 13 assists in 78 games (59 starts).
