Sene Signs with Blackpool FC

Former Revolution forward Saer Sene joined Championship side Blackpool on Friday, a month after his option was declined by the New York Red Bulls.
Sene, 28, was traded by the Revolution to the Red Bulls in August after struggling to find consistency for much of the 2014 season. Following the trade, the French forward saw action in five games with the Red Bulls, but was a non-factor during the club’s postseason push.
“I want to tell the (Blackpool) supporters that I’m happy to be here,” Sene told the BlackpoolFC.co.uk. “It’s a pleasure for me to be here and bring my best and help the team stay in the league.”
Blackpool currently sits at the bottom of the Championship table, with 14 points, and is in danger of being relegated.
In 59 career games with New England, Sene scored 17 goals, 11 of which came during a breakout debut season in 2012.
Sene’s deal, which runs through the remainder of the Championship season, will be finalized upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.
