The Revolution signed midfielder and preseason trialist Timi Mulgrew to a contract on Tuesday.

Mulgrew, 22, saw the pitch in all six preseason games for the Revolution during the winter, playing primarily on the left side of the midfield. He collected an assist on Sean Okoli’ 48th minute goal against Real Salt Lake on Jan. 31.

Mulgrew traveled back Foxborough with the Revolution following the Desert Diamond Cup, and remained with the team for training prior to Tuesday’s signing. He will wear number 92.

Prior to joining the Revolution on trial, the Sterling, Va. native scored a career-best 13 goals at George Mason University in 2014, including seven game-winning goals, which were tied for the most in NCAA Division I at the end of the regular season. During his four year collegiate career, he scored 26 goals and added 12 assists in 74 games.

The addition of Mulgrew brings the Revolution’s active roster to 25, with five open spots remaining.
