Ex-Rev, UConn Alum Sanchez Joins Swedish Side

Former Revolution defender Jossimar Sanchez, who was drafted by New England out of the University of Connecticut in 2013, joined third-tier Swedish side Nyköpings BIS last week.
Sanchez, 24, was loaned to the Revolution’s USL affiliate in Rochester last year where he played in seven matches for the Rhinos. He had his option declined following the conclusion of the 2014 season.
“We hope and believe Jossimar will contribute on many levels for Nykoping BIS,” said coach John Wall.
Sanchez starred at UConn from 2009-2012, but suffered a broken leg midway through his senior year. He spent the bulk of 2013 rehabilitating his leg, and trained with the Revolution toward the end of the season.
After an impressive 2014 preseason, the club signed him to a contract, but Sanchez did not see any action in MLS play.
