Braima Samati’s early goal proved to be the difference for the Rhode Island Oceaneers, who grabbed a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Fury at Washington Township High School in Washington Township, N.J.

Samati, who also grabbed the game-winner vs. Western Mass Pro Soccer three weeks ago, scored in the eighth minute while Oceaneers goalkeeper Chris Moura made three saves to keep the sheet clean. Fury goalkeeper Chase Clement also performed well, collecting six saves against a potent Oceaneers attack that fired seven shots on target and collected six corner kicks.

With the win, the Oceaneers (5-3-2, 17 points) remain unbeaten during the spring season, while the Fury (6-5-2, 20 points) were unable to continue the success they found against AC Crusaders the previous week.

The Oceaneers will return to action on Saturday when they host Mass United FC at Tucker Field in Cumberland, R.I. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
