A second half offensive surge allowed the New England Mutiny to seal a 3-1 win over the Lancaster Inferno on Saturday in rainy conditions at Millersville University in Millersville, Pa.

Kacey Richards opened the scoring on a curling free kick in the 47th minute while McKenzie Hollenbaugh scored her second goal in as many games when she found the back of the net in the 58th minute. Bailey Corbin brought one back for the Inferno in the 65th minute, but Liana Hinds restored the Mutiny’s two-goal lead with an 88th minute strike.

Saturday’s victory marked the second time in eight days in which the Mutiny took maximum points from the Inferno. The Central Massachusetts selection claimed a 3-0 win last weekend at Central High School in Springfield.

With the win, the Mutiny currently sit atop the Power 5 standings on 15 points (5-1-0). The loss kept the Inferno stuck on four points (1-2-1), and eliminated them from playoff contention.

The Mutiny return to action on Jul. 11 when they hit the road to face Jersey Blues at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm.
