FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – While the Revolution first team was getting ready for the upcoming MLS season down in Georgia, the Youth Academy was in the midst of regular season U.S Soccer Development Academy action at Gillette Stadium this past weekend.

On Saturday, the U-18s were blanked by NJSA U-18s 1-0, although it was not for lack of effort. The home side looked dangerous in both halves, with Cole Denormandie and Fabio Machado threatening for much of the match. But, NJSA’s Dennis Kachintsev salvaged the lone goal of the match in the 48th minute.

The Revolution U-16s avenged their fellow Academy teammates with a 3-2 victory over the NJSA U-16s. Diego Fagundez picked up a brace with goals in the 43rd and 48th minutes. Dominik Machado added the eventual game-winner in the 54th minute to lift the U-16s to victory.

On Sunday, the U-18s found the scoresheet three times, but fell in a goal-filled- 4-3 loss to Match Fit Chelsea. Midfielder Michael Rincon picked up a pair of goals in the 26th and 51st minutes, while Cameron Bielski struck early with an 18th minute strike.

The U-16s made it a perfect weekend thanks to a hat trick from Peguy Ngatcha. The Cameroonian forward tallied scores in the 50th, 70th, and 75th minutes to lead his club to a 3-1 victory over the Match Fit Chelsea U-16s.

The Revolution Academy clubs will return to action on March 12th and 13th at Gillette Stadium, with matches scheduled against PA Classics on Saturday and FC DELCO on Sunday.
