Injured Revolution defender Darrius Barnes was activated from the disabled list prior to Tuesday’s Roster Freeze, making him eligible for the duration of the regular season and playoffs should he return to health in time.
Barnes, who underwent knee surgery in April and was placed on the disabled list shortly after, has not yet returned to active training. However, he has been spotted on the practice pitch in recent weeks working with the team’s trainers.
Prior to his injury, the versatile defender played in five games and recorded an assist in the Revolution’s 2-1 win over San Jose on Mar. 28. He was originally slated to miss six months of action.
With Barnes no longer on the disabled list, the Revolution now have 26 players on the active roster.
