Revs Academy Alum Taintor on Initial Combine List

Revolution Academy product Mitchell Taintor is among 59 NCAA division 1 players on the initial list of invitees for the 2016 MLS Player Combine, which will take place in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. from Jan. 7-12.
Taintor, who recently completed his senior year at Rutgers University, was a Second Team All-Big Ten pick in 2015 after scoring five goals and notching five assists for the Scarlet Knights in 2015. The 6-2 midfielder/defender finished his collegiate career with 13 goals and six assists in 71 games between 2012 and 2015.
Prior to enrolling at Rutgers, the Storrs, Ct. native spent three seasons with the Revolution U-16s and U-18s between 2009 and 2011, and also appeared in six MLS Reserve League matches. Taintor was a regular participant in Revolution training during the summer of 2015.
As an Academy product, the Revolution have the option of filing a Homegrown claim on Taintor, and signing him prior to the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, which will be held on Jan. 14 in Baltimore, Md.
A committee of MLS coaches and NCAA Division I coaches from every conference selected the 59 invitees, all of whom completed their college eligibility this season. Additional invitees including Generation adidas signings, non-collegiate players, and more college seniors will be announced in the coming weeks.
