FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where we’re here for the Revolution’s home opener against DC United. Kickoff is set for 3:00pm.
Today’s match marks the first time the Revolution (0-0-1, 1 point) and United (0-1-0, 0 points) will face each other this season. They’ll meet again on Apr. 23 and Jun. 22 at RFK Stadium on both occasions.

What’s at stake? For the Revolution, it’s a chance to get win no. 1 in front of the home crowd, something they haven’t done since 2012. United has similar ambitions for pocketing their first set of points, but coach Ben Olsen will probably be happy with a draw considering last week’s series of events in LA.
Biggest question: Can the Revolution patch up a defense that conceded some easy goals in Houston? Coach Jay Heaps said earlier this week that he needs his team to be better when they lose possession, something that’ll surely be tested against the likes of Chris Rolfe and Lamar Neagle.
Other storylines: Can Diego Fagundez be just as effective as he was in Houston? Is the offense primed for another fireworks display? Is Scott Caldwell, the reigning team MVP, healthy enough to return to the XI? And will Je-Vaughn Watson put in another strong performance at right back?
Weather: It’s sunny and clear with a temperature of 54 degrees here in Norfolk County. Clear skies are forecast for the duration of the mid-afternoon match.
Referees: Silviu Petrescu will be the referee on Saturday. Petrescu last refereed a Revolution match in their 2-0 win over Chicago on Jun. 13, 2015. Joining Kelly will be Peter Manikowski (AR1) and Claudiu Badea (AR2). The fourth official will be Robert Sibiga.
