Revs Loan Smith to Rochester

The Revolution sent midfielder/defender Donnie Smith to its USL affiliate in Rochester for a short-term loan on Friday ahead of the Rhinos’ season-opening match against the Pittsburgh RiverHounds at Rhinos Stadium on Saturday.
Smith, who was available for selection during Friday’s Revolution-Red Bulls match, made six appearances for the Rhinos in 2014. He last saw action with the Revolution during their fourth-round U.S. Open Cup match against Charlotte Independence in 2015.
The fourth-year midfielder/defender is expected to return to New England following Saturday’s Rhinos-RiverHounds clash.
