Revolution center back Jose Goncalves is listed as questionable with a chest injury on the team’s injury report ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Chicago Fire.

Goncalves suffered the injury in the latter stages of Sunday’s 4-2 loss at LA Galaxy. He was forced to exit the match in the 77th minute.

Earlier in the week, Revolution coach Jay Heaps told the media that he wasn’t sure whether the skipper would be available against the Fire.

“We’ll see,” Heaps said. “He went to the doctors yesterday and now it’s just about where his pain threshold is. It was a pretty painful injury. I think over the next couple of days we’ll see if he’s available for Saturday. Not ruled out.”

Heaps also spoke briefly on the status of striker Charlie Davies (right adductor strain) and left back Chris Tierney (left hamstring strain). Davies remains listed as out while Tierney is listed as questionable.

“Chris is definitely coming along,” Heaps said. “Charlie is a little bit away. When I say a little bit away, it means Charlie is probably a week or two away.”

Left back Donnie Smith (right hamstring strain) remains listed as out while midfielder/forward Teal Bunbury (left hamstring strain) is questionable for the fourth straight game.

Midfielder Steve Neuman (right knee sprain) was upgraded to questionable.
