Saturday’s Revolution-Orlando City SC match has been postponed due to “extreme weather conditions,” according to a release from the local club on Friday.
The forecast for the match, which would have served as the Revolution’s home opener, called for temperatures in the low-20s, with winds of 18mph and a wind chill factor of 10 degrees.
“All of us involved in this decision believe this is in the best interest of the fans, the players, and the game,” said Revolution President Brian Bilello in a club release on Friday. “We at the Revolution look forward to seeing all our fans at the Orlando game on September 2.”
The match has been rescheduled for Sept. 2 at 7:00pm. All tickets for Mar. 11 will be honored on Sept. 2; fans will be allowed to switch to another game.
New England will now open its home schedule against Minnesota United FC on Mar.25 at 2:00pm.

Postponement a smart move. I still wonder why, over the years, the Patriots played the Dolphins in Miami in September and at Gillette in December. One wonders whether the NFL can think.
