FC Dallas forward Maxi Urruti scored twice in a six-minute span during the second half to send the Revolution to a 2-1 defeat on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.

After Lee Nguyen scored from the spot to give the Revolution the early lead inside of 10 minutes, Dallas pressed forward and found paydirt in the 71st minute after Urruti poked through a rebound. He struck again in the 77th minute after turning Benjamin Angoua and scoring from the far post.

Revolution designated player Xavier Kouassi made his club debut, getting the start at central defensive midfielder. Kouassi, who tore his ACL last February, went 79 minutes on Saturday.

For the second straight match, the Revolution featured a two-striker formation with Kei Kamara and Lee Nguyen stationed up top.

Despite showcasing energy and innovation early in the contest, the decision to tab Nguyen as a second forward did little to move the needle on the whole as New England was outshot 15-4 by the defending U.S. Open Cup champions.

Saturday’s loss sank the Revolution to 0-2-0 (0 points), and kept them out of the win column at Dallas since 2008. Dallas improved to 2-0-1 (7 points).

The Revolution get their next crack at win no. 1 of 2017 on Saturday, Mar. 25 when they host expansion side Minnesota United FC at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is 2:00pm.
