USASA: Rogues Take Top Spot

Providence City FC claimed their spot at the top of the Division-3 Bay State Soccer League table with a 2-0 win over OHP Gunners Saturday at Falzone Field in Waltham, Mass.
Six days after claiming a victory in their play-in match for the McKenzie Cup, the Rogues set the tone and never looked back in Saturday’s league match. Kiki Rodriguez scored his sixth goal of the season while Jason Rego added an insurance tally to send the Rhode Island selection to its third straight win. Danny Monteiro assisted on both strikes.
With the win, the Rogues sit atop the table on nine points (3-0-0). Gunners stayed on one point (0-1-1) with the loss.
The Rogues and Gunners will meet again in the first round of the McKenzie Cup on Apr. 22.
Providence City returns to league action on Apr. 29 at home vs. BCS XI at Brown University in Providence, R.I. Gunners will be back in action on Apr. 29 at home against Providence City AFC.
